Honor the Earth
Honor the Earth’s mission is to create awareness and support for Native environmental issues and to develop needed financial and political resources for the survival of sustainable Native communities. Honor the Earth develops these resources by using music, the arts, the media, and Indigenous wisdom to ask people to recognize our joint dependency on the Earth and be a voice for those not heard.
Indigenous Environmental Network (IEN)
Established in 1990 within the United States, IEN was formed by grassroots Indigenous peoples and individuals to address environmental and economic justice issues (EJ). IEN's activities include building the capacity of Indigenous communities and tribal governments to develop mechanisms to protect sacred sites, land, water, air, natural resources, health of their people and all living things, and to build economically sustainable communities.
Indigenous Women’s Network
The Indigenous Women's Network (IWN) was established as a grass roots initiative at a gathering of over 200 Indigenous women at Yelm, Washington in 1985. The Founding Mothers were and continue to be strong, committed Indigenous women activists who dedicate themselves to generating a global movement that achieves sustainable change for thier communities. Under their visionary leadership, IWN has become known for inspiring, strategic, pro-active and affirming events that facilitate the inter-generational transfer of traditional knowledge to young, Indigenous women.
National Black Environmental Justice Network (NBEJN)
NBEJN is a national preventive health and environmental/economic justice network. Members include some of the nation's leading African American grassroots environmental justice activists, community organizers, researchers, lawyers, public health specialists, technical experts, and authors addressing the intersection of public health, environmental hazards, and economic development within Black communities.
PODER, People Organized in Defense of Earth and her Resources
PODER’s mission is redefining environmental issues as social and economic justice issues, and collectively setting an own agenda to address these concerns as basic human rights. PODER seeks to empower communities through education, advocacy and action. Their aim is to increase the participation of communities of color in corporate and government decision making related to toxic pollution, economic development and their impact on neighborhoods.
Project on Gender and Environmental Justice in the 21st Century, Department of African American Studies at Syracuse University
In 2006, the Ford Foundation awarded a $233,000 grant to Syracuse University's Department of African American Studies (AAS) to support continued development of its focus on gender and environmental justice. Through a variety of activities, the Gender and Environmental Justice Project will help make AAS a center of excellence in environmental justice and Black feminist scholarship, and will enable it to serve as a model and inspiration for other Africana Studies departments.

Climate Alliance
The Climate Alliance of European Cities with the Indigenous Rainforest Peoples is Europe's largest city network for climate protection and aims for the preservation of the global climate.
Foundation for International Environmental Law and Development (FIELD)
A group of public international lawyers committed to helping vulnerable countries, communities and campaigners negotiate for fairer international environmental laws.
FIELD works for a fair, effective and accessible system of international law that protects the global environment and promotes sustainable development.
Gender, Science and Technology (GST) Gateway
The Gateway is a joint project with the Gender Advisory Board, UN Commission on Science and Technology (S&T) for Development. It is a clearinghouse of resources, partners and policy recommendations to support gender equity in S&T for sustainable development. It provides key links and information on research, practice, policy and partners in sustainable development, which focuses on gender equality to promote sustainable and equitable science and technology for development. The site is organized according to the "Seven Transformative Action Areas" identified by the Gender Working Group of the UN Commission on S&T for Development: Education, Careers, Needs of Society, S&T Decision Making, Local Knowledge Systems, Ethical Issues, and Collecting Gender Disaggregated Data.
Taking Root
Taking Root is a film that tells the dramatic story of Kenyan Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Wangari Maathai, whose simple act of planting trees grew into a nationwide movement to safeguard the environment, protect human rights, and defend democracy.
The Greenbelt Movement
GBM provides income and sustenance to millions of people in Kenya through the planting of trees. It also conducts educational campaigns to raise awareness about women’s rights, civic empowerment, and the environment throughout Kenya and Africa.
Third World Organisation of Women in Science (TWOWS)
A network to unite eminent women scientists from the South with the objective of strengthening their role in the development process and promoting their representation in scientific and technological leadership.
Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO)
WEDO’s mission is to empower women as decision makers to achieve economic, social and gender justice, a healthy, peaceful planet, and human rights for all. Through their programs on Economic and Social Justice, Gender and Governance and Sustainable Development, WEDO emphasizes women’s critical role in social, economic and political spheres.
Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (WOCAN)
WOCAN is a women-led global network of professional women and men engaged in agriculture and natural resource management who are committed to organizational change for gender equality and environmentally sustainable development.
