Requirements

  • Enroll in WS 200 - Theory and Critical Research

  • Enroll in WS 220 - Research Seminar

  • Choose a 210 - Special Topic Seminar from Course List on Women & Gender
    • Check website or pick-up list from department office.
  • 210 Exception Information
    • The DE Director must approve any course that is not included in the Course List before you register for the course.
    • Please provide a course syllabus and a letter from the instructor stating that the subject matter meets the requirements for a 210 Special Topic Seminar.
  • Graduation Information
    • Contact the WS Graduate Student Affairs Office (GSAO) early in the semester you are scheduled to graduate to review the completion of the DE program requirements.
    • Complete the Application for Transcript Designation in Women, Gender & Sexuality-you can pick-up the form at the Department office.
    • Please inform the GSAO if you will be attending the Women's Studies Graduation Ceremonies in May.
    • Submit name of your home department, title of your dissertation, and a permanent address to the GSAO.
  • Upon completion of these requirements and the dissertation, the student will receive a designation on their transcript and their diploma to state that they have completed a "Ph.D. in (...) with an Emphasis in Women, Gender, and Sexuality."
